The regulations (Occupational Health and Safety Regulations -Noise, 1992) state that "anyone who is issued with, or is required to wear hearing protection to control their exposure to noise must have their hearing tested within 3 months of commencement, at least every 2 years thereafter".
We can provide this comprehensive service to your organisation with a minimum amount of disruption to your employees work program. We bring our well equipped mobile audiometric van (with inbuilt sound attenuating booth) to you, thereby reducing your employee down time to no more than 10 - 15 minutes each.
Our Audiometrists are fully qualified and registered with the Health and Safety Organisation, VWA and the Federal Office of Hearing Services, and all equipment and testing is performed in accordance with all relevant standards and regulations.
Our computerised records management system then provides you with all the necessary documentation, only requiring the minimum input from your own administration staff to distribute the letters to the individuals.

This price quoted is based on a testing rate of 6 tests per hour. Should 6 tests not be able to be completed in any given hour due to failure of your staff to attend at the allotted time etc, an hourly surcharge may be applied, to the value of no more than the equivalent hourly rate of 6 tests per hour. Any retesting required at a later date for any reason will be charged for according to the terms, conditions, and scale of charges in effect at the time.
Audiological evaluations are a mandatory requirement of the Occupational Health & Safety Regulations (Noise) 1992 where an employee has a screening test result which is reportable - as defined in regulation 15.7 (a) and 15.7 (b). As with the cost for the initial hearing tests, the employer is also required to arrange and pay for subsequent tests.(regulation 15.8)
The Audiological evaluation assesses the function of the different of the ear independently. The results enable a determination on the part of the ear which is functioning correctly, and which part is causing the hearing loss. An assessment can then be made as to the cause of the hearing loss.
These assessments are performed on site, thereby providing a fixed cost per employee which eliminates all the variable costs associated with sending employees "off site" (lengthy absence off the job, travelling time, taxi or mileage charges, risk of injury whilst off site etc).
Our specialist computerised records management system provides all necessary documentation, requiring the minimum input from your own staff to process, thereby saving you many hours of tedious administration.

Hearing testing across multiple shifts:
The hearing testing program can be structured to incorporate various shifts if necessary. Where only a few tests are performed per hour, the actual rate would most likely resort back to the minimum hourly rate as a consistent minimum of 2 tests per hour may not be achieved during the entire test period due to the shift structures. Please ring to discuss special programs to suit your requirements
* Minimum hourly testing rate;
Above prices are based on a testing rate of 2 tests per hour. Should 2 tests
not be able to be completed in any given hour due to failure of staff to attend
promptly etc, or for any other reason, a minimum hourly rate based on the above
figures at a rate of 2 tests per hour will be charged. Any re-testing required
at a later date for any reason will be charged for according to the terms, conditions,
and scale of charges listed above, relative to how many tests are to be performed
during each subsequent visit.
Please contact our office to arrange a suitable time to proceed with this important
stage of the hearing assessments for your employees.
